Employee Engagement Survey

Question: Write an essay onEmployee Engagement Survey. Answer: Employee Engagement Survey Employee engagement surveys are the tools used in the healthcare organizations to provide insights on the feelings of the employees towards the workplace environment, leaders and the organization. The management should stress on these surveys for understanding the strength and weakness of the organization, as viewed by the employees and respond accordingly. This assignment deals with the employee engagement survey of Metro Dental Services and interprets the survey results from the point of view of the manager. Organizational Analysis From the total score of the survey report, it can be said that 68% of employees believe that the organization is favorable and 26.2% of the employees think that it is unfavorable and needs improvement with a no answer from 5.8% of the employees, conducted on the employee strength of 112. From the category rank report, seven categories have been identified for the survey where employee feedback was collected and analyzed for the interpretation. The categories working conditions, cost and quality orientation, training, empowerment and teamwork had a score of above 75%. Whereas, identification with the company and work demands had a score below 75%. According to the survey interpretations, scores of above 70 indicates high morale and engagement and requires celebration whereas scores of 60 and above indicate a healthy workplace and is indicative of acceptable to good levels of morale and engagement. From the rank report, it can be said the areas of identification with the company and wo rk demands requires improvement to leverage them to the levels of celebration, like the other categories that are the strengths of the organization. The working conditions of the Metro Dental Services have been found to be above 75%. This states that the conditions for working for the nurses, physicians and other staff members are appreciable with agreeable conditions of amenities, noise and stress levels, physical environment and degree of danger or safety. Working conditions are considered as the core of the employment relationships and paid work, where the organization excels successfully (Spanjol, Tam Tam, 2016). Cost and quality orientation of the organization was also above 75% that is an excellent score in terms of business environment. This indicates that the organization focuses on the quality management aspects with considerable expenditure on the employees for their welfare and safety (Goetsch Davis, 2014). Training, empowerment and teamwork manage to score above 75% and are of significant importance, as they constitute the strength of the organization. In a fast paced and ever changing corporate world, training is an indispensable function. Empowerment of the employees is essential for the cultural transformation, behavior change and talent development of the employees (Khanna Gupta, 2016). Teamwork is essential for increasing performance, company culture and employee unity. Plans for Improvement For Metro Dental Services, none of the categories were found to score below 50 to indicate significant employee issues. However, the areas of identification with the company and work demands were found to have scored slightly below 75% and are recognized as the areas of improvement of the organization, to make them at par with the other categories of celebration. Identification with the organization explains how the view of the employee overlaps with his perception of the organization. This is tested psychologically by asking the employees about their agreement level with statement pairs about themselves and their companies (Mowday, Porter Steers, 2013). Organizational identification has been found to be related directly to the employee performance and related indirectly with the organizational performance and customer evaluation. Therefore, the plan to improve this area of weakness is to improve the performance of the employees by psychologically enhancing their feeling of attachment with the organization and increase their sense of belonging. They should be imparted the perception that their performance is recognized by the organization and should be awarded rewards and recognitions for commendable achievements (Rummler Brache, 2012). This would, in turn, improve the organizational performance and evaluations of the customers as well. Work demands are the source of the stress that is work related. The employees of Metro Dental Services are quite satisfied with their organizational work demands, however, it has achieved the lowest rank among all the categories of employee satisfaction and needed to improve the benchmark. The plan for improving work demands includes providing the employees with the opportunity for determining the order and pace of the task and rotation of the task requiring extensive mental stress (Dewa, Nieuwenhuijsen Sluiter, 2016). Training on the management of the difficult situation can also serve to manage the difficult situations. Encourage the employees to take regular breaks from work and promoting a healthy balance between work and life. This would improve the work demands of the organization and would improve the employee engagement. Plan for the celebration of the strengths of the organization includes the workplace celebrations either in the form of rewards or recognition for the employees. The employees are benefited in order to motivate them to maintain the strengths and improve the weaknesses of the organization. References Dewa, C. S., Nieuwenhuijsen, K., Sluiter, J. K. (2016). At the age of 5 Mozart was composing and performing his works all over the Europe. At the age of six Mozart performed for the Bavarian elector and the Austrian empress. His father felt that it could be very profitable to expose his hillsides musical genius (Mozart sister Maria Anna was a gifted keyboard player). In 1763 he took his children on a tour to Paris and London as well as several courts while on the Journey. Mozart astounded audiences with his tremendous technical and musical ability. In 1773, Mozart visited Vienna, It was here that he wrote a set of string quartets and when he returned home, he wrote a group of symphonies. From 1774 through to 1777, Mozart worked as Concert Master at the Prince Archbishops court, during these years he wrote masses, symphonies, all of his violin concertos, six piano sonatas several serenades and divertimento and his first great piano concerto. From 1777 till 1780 he enjoyed little success, working in minor roles, however, still composing sacred works, symphonies, concertos, serenades and dramatic music.Opera remained his ultimate ambition and he finally was commissioned to write a serious opera for Munich. This first opera Demimonde was a success. In Mozart operas he portrayed serious, heroic emotion with a richness that had not been heard in his other works. While his operas were his passion, and piano concertos were an important part of his career as both a performer and a composer, his concertos for wind instruments were always written for, or inspired by a particular performer of that instrument. Wisped In the Autumn of 1791, Mozart was commissioned by his good friend Anton Stalled to rite a concerto for him to play at an upcoming performance In Prague on October 1 6th 1791. Mozart had started writing a concerto for basset horn In 1989 this was reworked to become the Clarinet concerto. Stalled had recently invented an instrument that combined the agility of the early clarinet with the depth of the basset horn, and this Basset Clarinet was the instrument for which Mozart wrote his concerto. It allowed him to write brilliant display passages and lyrical melodies in its clarion (upper) register and to explore the rich expressive sound of Its calumets lower) register with equal ease, and the music exploits the contrast between the two. Mozart had written several works for Stalled, including a clarinet quintet, a quintet for piano and winds (oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon) and a trio for clarinet, viola and piano. The Clarinet Concerto was premiered in Prague, on October 16th 17 91.Staplers performance left an extremely positive impression on the audience. The Berlin Miscalculates Womanliest wrote In January on 1792; Herr Stalled, a clarinetist from Vienna. A man of great talent and recognized as such at court Halls dieback was from critics who faulted Mozart for writing for this particular extended instrument. *wisped Mozart clarinet concerto has been described by many over the years as being autumnal mostly due to the lyrical Adagio movement, which is, out of the three movements, the most recognizable tune.Although the entire concerto is simple in form, the Adagio movement introduces a range of new textures, inspired by the solo instrument and its capabilities. The orchestral background has a solemn tone which is similar to the second movement of his Clarinet Quintet, also written for Stalled. Nile Mozart predictably makes the most of the clarion register, his use of operatic melody combined with chamber texture adds a more operatic brilliance which gives this concerto a special aura and sets it apart from other composers works such as Carl Stamina. The Adagio movement from this work, has a widely recognizable tune and has been used in movies such as American Gild, Out of Africa and Amadeus (a movie based on the life of Mozart). *wisped ere melodic line of the Adagio movement, is generally diatonic, and uses a wide angel of intervals, containing chromatic scales as well as the use of an interval leap of over two octaves for e. G in the recapitulation, the melody line leaps from a very low note to a considerably high note, two and half octaves higher. The middle section, displays the most variety in rhythm, melody, range, and harmonistic in t he accompaniment. To study the Adagio movement of Mozart Clarinet concerto, we can analyses each section, that is, the primary theme, solo section, recapitulation and finally, the coda. Bar 1-32 Bar 33-58 59 Bar 60-93 Bar 94-98 A Section 3 Section Cadenza Coda ere main theme which runs for the first 32 bars, includes 2 eight bar strains, both of these are then repeated by the orchestra. These eight bar strains contain a pair of two bar phrases, followed by a four bar continuation. This alteration between solo and orchestra can also be found in Mozart piano concertos. This main theme is incredibly powerful and expressive, despite it being constructed within a limited range of pitch and with a fairly simple melodic idea. The fact that he uses the orchestra to echo the primary melody in a dynamic of forte, accentuates the strength ND expressive power of this line.In this section we can hear the role of the lower strings change, playing sustained notes to start and then developing into a more Nee studied closely has some differences which set the two apart and create a forward motion and development of the piece. The second strain continues with the straightforward melo dic line, however the harmony underneath this changes. In bars 19 and 21 Mozart chooses to briefly use E minor and F# minor, respectively, which makes the accompaniment richer in this second strain than it is in the first. In the echo from the orchestra in the second strain, the bass line follows a more chromatic path than before. Green In the middle section of this movement (the B section), we hear the soloist exploit the extent of his skills, this section is entirely a solo section containing many different rhythms and particularly showing off the calumets (lower) register with its deep rich timbre. The writing in this solo section is characterized by the use of a variety of rhythms, chromatic detail and the presence of substantial interval leaps. In this section, any passages that are exploiting the lower register, are usually closely followed by phrases in the upper registers.Mozart wrote this piece with Stalled in mind, as he did with most of his concertos as well as other works, such as his operas. He often developed a character w ith a particular artist in mind to play the part. In this section we can hear that Mozart understands the instrument he was writing for, and its capabilities. Mozart employs the use of intervals of twelfth quite frequently in this section, which is achieved quite easily on the clarinet, however, if he had been riding for a different instrument he may not have been able to write such an interval and have it executed accurately. In this solo section we hear a two octave downward arpeggio followed by a substantial leap to a higher interval, followed by some chromatic ornamentation at the subsequent cadence. It is interesting to note the dissonance used by Mozart to increase interest and character, this happens repeatedly every two bars from bar 38 to 44. In the original basset clarinet version, a phenomenal 3 octave arpeggio is written. The basset clarinet having an extra 4 notes t the bottom end of its range would have given it extra warmth and more range for exploiting Staplers skills. At the end of this section we hear several sustai ned notes from the orchestra followed by short passages where the clarinet is displayed by itself. *brown *green ere recapitulation brings back the floating simplistic melody of section A. Firstly reaffirming the original two solo strains from the beginning, however, this time the orchestra does not echo the first strain. Then in the second strain, the orchestral response is present, yet it undertakes a re-harmonistic, characterized mainly by he falling bass line, as opposed to the continuously ascending bass line of the original strain.Apart from staying with the form of a concerto, reaffirming this melody reminds the audience of the first section of this work and reinforces any emotions that were linked with this original melody. This time, the melody being slightly different from the first A section, allows the audience to experience a new sensation as well as develop a renewed love and appreciation for this melody. Following the recapitulation we hear a coda section, which brings in the first nacreous of this movement, at the same time, bringing together the elements of both the principal and middle solo sections. The coda brings back the flowing, gentle Nee hear in the B section. Through much of this coda section, the orchestral winds have been omitted, with only strings as accompaniment, yet they return at the end adding a final touch of color to the final two bars. It is interesting to note that in the original basset clarinet concerto, the final note was written as a minim, as opposed to the crotchet written in the other parts, it is unknown whether this is a subtle magical effect written purposefully by Mozart or simply a publishers misprint. Green In conclusion, this piece was chosen for its ability to portray a combination of emotions, it is light, Joyful, and elegant. This concerto, while it is perfectly simplistic, contains creative musical ideas and an inspiring diversity of rhythmic and melodic patterns. The warm, expressive tone of the clarinet and the somber simplicity of the orchestra makes this a wonderful piece to listen to. In listening to this piece it becomes evident, the admiration and passion Mozart had for this instrument. It monstrance t hat he truly understood the clarinet and how to exhibit its true potential. In this concerto, we find some of the most beautiful passages ever written for clarinet. It can be heard in Mozart music that he often wrote with his audience in mind, the aim for him being to attract an emotional response from them. The clarinet concerto was Mozart final orchestral work, as he only wrote his Requiem after this, Inch he died during the process of writing. The clarinet concerto is a fantastic example of Mozart brilliant and beautiful writing.Mozart had already written expansively for the clarinet and basset horn, prior to writing this concerto. In all his concertos he displays a significant understanding of the capabilities of the instrument for which he is writing for. This concerto uses the complete range of the original instrument, that is, from low C to high G. The difference of tone in the clarinets various registers is beautifully used to vary mood and affect. The clarinets ability to play through very large intervals is stylishly established continuously throughout this piece and helps to create excitement and originality.

Set in 1960 New Orleans during Mardi Gras Binx, an upper class southern gentleman sets out to find out about himself. Answer questions that have tugged at his soul. Questions about despair, everydayness, religion and romance. Binx is stuck in a quagmire. He must break out from this cloak of ennui and find the essence of being. But how? How can people, a person with a soul and a world at their fingertips be so inept at finding what makes them alive. Can it be found in religion or on the arm of a southern beauty? Maybe it can be found in the surrealism of a movie, or the excitement of making money. What if an answer is found? Will it frighten a person back to their everydayness? Some of these question are sound, others may be just thoughts in the authors mind, but they are questions that Binx must find out about. The following will talk about the idea of despair Binx is deathly afraid of being pulled into everydayness. That is to say that he does not want to fall into the trap of a daily, weekly of life long rut. He does not want to settle for just living just an existence. He wants to be noticed, to have the ability of excitement on a daily routine. To work hard and start a family and fight for what he thinks is a grand life. Only to realize years later that such a routine was established you never left from where you started. To Binx that is death. Not physically dead, but soulfully dead. But what is so wrong with everydayness. One could argue that everydayness could be a positive influence. Millions of people for hundreds of years have lived a life of everydayness. Has society stopped? Have people withered into tiny robots fueled by repetition? People need repetition to keep them going. Everyda ...

Case Study 1 - international marketing Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Case Study 1 - international marketing - Essay Example They then seek out characteristics, such as prestige-oriented attitudes or general lifestyle, and then develop advertising and integrated communications strategies to meet these needs. It is segmentation and then response to market identification using language that would be accepted by these groups. Divide and conquer segments â€Å"must be revisited to ensure relevance† (Schwarz, 2007, p.1). Question 2 This paradox fits into Acer’s strategy as it is recognized that global markets are products and local markets are people. There is no standardized method of achieving marketing success due to the fact that people across the globe, even if they have similar demographic traits, will not have the same buying behaviors. Businesses that believe they can use standardized advertising and communications principles are engaging in paradoxical thinking (sagepub.com, 2007). Local markets can be easier identified with and segmented while global markets are more difficult to define. Acer spent a great deal of time learning Chinese buyer behaviors, such as feelings about product reputation, that helped standardize segmentation and ad strategies in this specific culture. Globally, however, Acer must adapt these principles to meet unique market needs.

Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development Essay Example for Free

Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development Essay This article has deeply looked into the importances of education. The different perspectives that the author of the article has used in explaining the significance of education has made me to understand the noble part of education which I though was increased economic power. However from the article, I have realized that there are other benefits accrued to education such as improved lifestyle, and also status quo of an individual though they have not been fully exhausted in the article. The completion of tertiary education has also increase in Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) members have also learnt that there is inequality in economic earning in the OECD country members with Spain, Luxembourg and Belgium having the lowest level of gender inequality. This however does not conform in all countries especially the developing countries where the level of unemployment is high. There is high level of unemployed graduates in the developing countries which deprive education of its importance. The income rate in the developing countries do not match with education level due to high level of corruption in these countries. It is possible to find a Bachelor degree holder earning less than a college diploma holder. The education in different countries vary in significance and in the developed countries the people enjoy the benefits of education more than the people in the developing countries. The articles analysis on sciences and maths score has brought the clear image of performance across different countries. Just like many people, I could not have imagined that the United States could be led by any other country in the science and technology sector. Amazingly from the articles analysis on these subjects (Science and Maths), Asian countries take a lead including Singapore, China, South Korea and Japan. It have also been noted that different countries differ significantly on the level of education and education attainment. The gender inequality in earning is very prominent in the developing countries which the article should have focused. The article did not include African states in the analysis except in the science and math performance. I feel that the article needed more of comparison on education in Africa with the first world countries which could have brought about a clear view of education in the two disparities. The article could have discussed about the future prospect of education in the world. With the improved technology, different individuals from different countries are able to acquire universal education and hence chances of employment increase. The level of competition in education is also likely to go higher as children at a lower age are being exposed to technology such as the internet. The article need therefore to address the future of education in the globe. The benefits of education are broader than the article is stating. Education plays a major role in the conservation of the environment. The level of education determines the ones level of environmental consciousness. With the threat of global warming, education through creating awareness and providing solutions to the problem can make a difference.
